An Old Lawrencian for Life

Alumni of the Lawrence School, Lovedale are fondly referred to as Old Lawrencians.

The association with the school doesn’t end when one leaves; it carries on for life. There are thousands of Old Lawrencians across the world. Each one shares a common passion for the school and has shaped the OLA into the intimate global community it has come to become.

The Old Lawrencians Association (OLA) is the official alumni organisation and association for alumni of the Lawrence School, Lovedale, registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act No. 27 of 1975 ® (Serial No. 44 of 1989). It undertakes initiatives, activities, and affairs related to the governance, interaction, and engagement among its global alumni community.

The OLA is a not-for-profit organisation run by the registered members of its community, and its purpose is to maintain ongoing efforts that contribute to strong ties within the community, with the school, and other related stakeholders.

To become a registered member of the Old Lawrencians Association, a nominal registration fee is collected from each former student of the Lawrence School, Lovedale. This fee, alongside funds raised from merchandise sales, is utilised by the OLA Committee, its Office Bearers, and Working Teams to support the financial requirements for community administration and operations, which include but are not restricted to the development and maintenance of the website, technology costs, expenses incurred, staff salary among other things.

The financial support from Old Lawrencians helps in the facilitation and management of different community plans and programmes and supports its growth. In turn, this allows for bringing to the alumni various initiatives of value and benefit.
