History of the OLA

The OLA was founded in 1989. From the 1950’s, interactions among alumni and the school were informal and limited. Due to challenges in transportation and connectivity, the participation of Old Lawrencians during Founder’s Day celebrations was few.

In its earlier days, the Committee was primarily responsible for conducting the Annual General Body Meeting, the OL Dinner and Dance during Founders, fundraising efforts and being informally associated with different chapters, where they existed.

It was only through the formation of a registered association that the Old Lawrencians Association formally came into being. Alumni were thus able to become registered members of the ever-growing association.

Over the years, many committees and OLs have worked tirelessly to strengthen the relationship between the school and its alumni community. Today, there are approximately 8000 Old Lawrencians across the world and the number grows steadily each year with the graduating batch joining the OLA family.
