IMPORTANT INFORMATION

- E-PASS REQUIRED FOR TRAVEL TO OOTY -

In an effort to manage the recent surge in tourists and protect the delicate ecosystem of the Nilgiris, the Madras High Court has implemented a new requirement for visitors to Ooty and Kodaikanal.

According to recent news reports as of 6 May  2024, anyone planning a trip between 7 May to 30 June 2024 will need to acquire an e-pass before arrival. This e-pass system is intended to regulate tourist flow during the peak season.

There is some positive news for those planning a trip!

There is no limit on the number of e-passes issued, and local residents are exempt from this requirement. Please note that each individual travelling requires an e-pass.

The e-pass will act as a mandatory entry permit, helping to manage visitor flow and ease traffic congestion on the area's roadways.

The OLA team will continue to monitor news reports for any updates on this regulation and will share them with the community as warranted.

In the meantime, you can apply for your e-pass by clicking the button below or by using the QR code in the image above.
