IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- TN ePASS REQUIRED FOR TRAVEL TO OOTY -
In an effort to manage the recent surge in tourists and protect the delicate ecosystem of the Nilgiris, the Madras High Court and the Government of Tamil Nadu have implemented a new requirement for visitors to Ooty and Kodaikanal.
According to recent news reports as of 6 May 2024, anyone planning a trip between 7 May to 30 June 2024 will need to acquire a *TN ePass before arrival. This TN ePass system is intended to regulate tourist flow during the peak season.
There is some positive news for those planning a trip!
There is no limit on the number of TN ePasses issued, and local residents are exempt from this requirement. Please note that each individual travelling requires a TN ePass.
The TN ePass will act as a mandatory entry permit, helping to manage visitor flow and ease traffic congestion on the area's roadways.
The OLA team will continue to monitor news reports for any updates on the regulations and will share them with the community as warranted.
In the meantime, you can apply for your TN ePass by clicking the button below or by using the QR code in the image above.
*Please note that the TN ePass is administered and facilitated by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The Old Lawrencians Association is in no manner directly or indirectly affiliated with the TN ePass system and is not responsible and/or liable for any errors in the process of applying for and acquiring the TN ePass. The Old Lawrencians Association only shares the link by the Government of Tamil Nadu to make the application for the TN ePass convenient for the alumni community.
